This weekend is the 1000 Island Poker Run in Kingston! For those of you (like myself until recently) who may not know what a Poker Run is, it works like this: each boat has to visit five checkpoints – this particular run starts in Kingston, heading to Brockville, Prescott, Gananoque and ending again in Kingston, with the drivers drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. But let’s be honest, the best part is admiring the boats on display on Ontario Street and enjoying the live bands playing in Confederation park on a summer night, which is exactly what Devon and I did last night. Tonight at 8:30 is the card unveiling in Market square with helicopter footage of the run being displayed on a JumboTron under the stars.
